In 2017, Renew launched a new disability arm to the company. Renew is now a registered NDIS provider across a range of services. At Renew we are committed to provide the same quality service provision across the disability arm as we have within the rehabilitation space for the past 11 years.
Director and Principal Psychologist, Jason Toombs, is a well regarded Toowoomba local with over 25 years experience as a Psychologist.Jason commenced his working life as a carpenter/joiner, which has proved invaluable in working with clients today. Jason has extensive experience across both public and private organisations.
In addition to being a registered Psychologist, he has specialist training in occupational and rehabilitation psychology and assessment and treatment of clinical disorders. He has a special interest in the treatment of PTSD and trauma and is often consulted by emergency services personnel, orthopedic surgeons, general practitioners and insurance personnel for his expertise in this area.
Jason has an extensive tool box that is geared towards overcoming barriers and maximising potential.
Jason is well known as a fierce advocate for people’s rights and needs and someone who goes the extra mile to facilitate real outcomes.
Director and Behaviour Change Specialist, Michelle Toombs, joined the Renew team in 2017. Michelle has 25 years’ experience working with both adults and children with disabilities.
Michelle has managed community agencies including an open employment service for people with disabilities, and adult day service, and an in-home support service.
Michelle has also worked with students with disabilities in educational settings, assisting them to transition from school to post-school options, as well as, working with students and their families to be able to engage with school communities, curriculum opportunities and community supports. Facilitating access to and engagement with real life opportunities for people with disabilities has been Michelle’s life’s work and passion.
Emma relocated from Far North Queensland in 2015 where she completed her Bachelor of Psychology studies. Whilst in Cairns, Emma worked with young girls, assisting a program around body image and hygiene.
Emma has previously worked in both disability and mental health sector, working with both adults and children. Emma has spent the last 3 years working in community mental health supporting adults with psychosocial disabilities to achieve their goals with employment and training as well as providing opportunities to socialise and maintain their mental health supports. Emma focuses strongly on building positive professional relationships with all clients and promotes a person centred approach to her work.
Peta has come to us with a number of years’ experience in the disability sector. First as a disability support worker, following which she provided plan management and support coordination services to the greater Darling Downs and Western Queensland regions. She has a passion for rural communities and is always interested in finding new, innovative ways to assist people.
Peta is our resident NDIS expert, providing support coordination to Toowoomba and surrounds. She is also finishing her psychology degree and is very keen to use her passion and skills within the NDIS space.
Jolene joins us with over 25 years’ experience in administration and customer service roles. She graduated many many years ago with a Bachelor of Business from QUT, and has gravitated towards roles that are people focused.

Alyssa was born and raised in Adelaide and relocated to Toowoomba to complete her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at USQ.
She has worked with at risk and vulnerable children and youth and has also supported clients with disabilities. She is passionate about providing evidence-informed treatment, therapy, rehabilitation and psychosocial support that helps people to achieve the best outcomes for their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.
She is also passionate about food, which maybe a reflection of her Greek heritage and discovering all the wonderful things the Darling Downs has to offer.
